WyreStorm has been offering 5Play compliance over HDBaseT for some time now, but the EX-100-4K-PRO goes even further. An HDMI extender set bursting at the seams with features, the EX-100-4K-PRO is WyreStorm’s first extender using the HDBaseT 2.0 specification; HD video, audio, Ethernet, two-way control via IR and Serial and two-way PoH over distances of 100m for full 4K or 150m at 1080p along a single Cat6 cable.
Unrivalled power, distance and functionality, the EX-100‐4K-PRO represents the ultimate 4K extender solution supporting resolutions up to 4,096 x 2,160 at 60Hz with chroma subsampling of up to 4:2:0 and HDCP 2.2 compatibility offering support for new 4K broadcast standards.
Two-way PoH allows either transmitter or receiver to be powered. Both units also feature dual Ethernet ports for 10/100 LAN connection of up to three devices per extender pair. The addition of USB 2.0 pass-through offers KVM functionality while enabling full data transfer capabilities. Either end may be connected to the host or dual devices and DIP switch management allows for the direction of USB control, long cable mode and firmware updates to the units.
The EX-100-4K‐PRO includes audio embed on transmitter and de-embed on the receiver via 3.5mm jack connectivity. Separate audio feeds can also be directed bi-directionally thanks to an additional two-way S/PDIF audio pass-through that allows digital audio signals to be sent and received at either end.
Supporting the latest 4K standards yet also backwards compatible with HDBaseT 1.0 transmitters or receivers, the EX-100-4K-PRO is ready and primed for the 4K future, yet still compatible with current technology versions for arguably the most powerful and fully-featured HDBaseT extender on the market.
4K HDMI over HDBaseT Extender Set with ARC and Two-Way PoH (4K: 70m | 1080p 100m)
Free the audio from on-demand content within a SmartTV with the WyreStorm EX-70-4K-ARC HDBaseT extender supporting ARC (Audio Return Channel).
Offering Class A HDBaseT transmission compatible with the latest 4K standards, the EX-70-4K-ARC supports full 4K resolutions up to 4,096 x 2,160 60Hz 4:2:0 over distances up to 70m and 1080p@60Hz/48-bit up to 100m, including two-way IR and Serial control – but that’s just for starters.
The real trick in this box of tricks is enabling digital audio from a display device such as SmartTV to be sent back to the receiver and to other locations via switchable audio control between ARC and local source on both units. Even older (not-so-smart) TVs are able to get in on the act by outputting audio to the Toslink S/PDIF input on the EX-70-4K-ARC receiver, meaning any TV with an optical output can send its audio.
The flexibility doesn’t end there with the transmitter able to switch audio output between local HDMI source and ARC from the receiver, and the two S/PDIF outputs on the receiver switchable between local ARC and audio breakout of the remote source device.
That’s a whole lot of audio switching options for something so compact – luckily EDID management, firmware updates and LED panel indication to instantly identify unit power, signal status and quality and HDCP presence helps guides through any potential installation challenges.
4K HDMI over HDBaseT Extender Products with Two-Way IR and Serial Control and PoH
Incredibly low profile housings of just 18mm, WyreStorm’s latest 4K compatible extender and receiver line offers full 4K support and greatly reduced form factors to make installation a dream.
All models support timing signals up to 4096×2160@30Hz 4:2:2, with the EX-35-4K covering distances up to 35m@4K and 70m@1080p/60Hz/36-bit Deep Color, and the EX-70-4K and RX-70-4K doubling transmission distance to 70m@4K and 100m@1080p/60Hz with 48-bit Deep Color.
Models in the range also feature 3D, HD audio, two-way IR, serial control and PoH for remote powering of receivers at display locations, with EX and RX-70-4K models adding Ethernet for full 5Play specification.
In addition to drawing power remotely from a transmitter or compatible matrix via PoH, models also feature improved power connectivity via phoenix port and threaded DC power port for standard and locking DC power plugs.
Signal and device activity is illustrated by panel LED indicators for power supply, signal status for established display connection, Link for confirmed HDBaseT connection between matrix/receiver and HDCP presence in signal. The EX-70-4K adds multi-stage LED indication to instantly identify signal status and quality and help troubleshoot potential installation issues.
In-Wall 4K HDMI over HDBaseT Transmitter with Two-Way IR and Serial Control and PoH
The in-wall TX-IW-70-POH transmitter fits snugly within a 2-Gang Decora wall box to distribute 4K video, audio, Ethernet and control 70m@4K and 100m@1080p/60Hz with 48bit Deep Color.
