Polycom appoints Ingram Micro as distributor for Australia & New Zealand
Polycom Asia Pacific has announced it has appointed Ingram Micro as its new distribution partner for Australia and New Zealand.
The appointment is part of Polycom’s plans to strengthen its distribution network within the region and will see a greater emphasis on creating cloud-based solutions offered by Polycom ecosystem partners including Microsoft.
“Digital transformation and the ability to create a workplace of the future today, is a key focus for our customers – large, medium and small – throughout ANZ. Ingram Micro understands this and, more importantly, where our solutions fit within this mix,” says Polycom Australia and New Zealand managing director Tony Simonsen.

The two companies will work closely together to create value-added, bundled packages for channel partners and customers, including cloud providers’ services such as Microsoft.
“Channel partners will see tremendous value in how Ingram Micro plans to build the Polycom portfolio across ANZ. Hardware as a Service (HaaS) is just one area of focus. It is effectively bundling Polycom products with cloud-based solutions offered via OPEX-friendly term,” says Ingram Micro Australia and New Zealand chief country executive Felix Wong.
Last month Polycom co-found and chief evangelist Jeff Rodman addressed customers and partners at the Polycom Innovation Conference in Sydney, with New Zealand channel partners and customers joining via video.
Jeff said that the impact of digital transformation is making people rethink what they need from their workspaces and explained that throughout the world traditional offices are being replaced with more open, technology-enabled environments, albeit at different speeds.
Jeff was joined on stage by Microsoft’s Jace Moreno, who reminded customers and resellers that the biggest digital transformation challenge they are facing is people. He said that the greatest technology in the world would not be enough if people were not equipped to embrace it.
“Polycom has been a leader in the voice and video conferencing market across ANZ. Our go-to-market plan will see us focus on unlocking more opportunities with Polycom’s ecosystem partners – Microsoft being top of the list. Ingram Micro has the in-depth industry knowledge and experience to help us achieve our goals and keep our leadership title,” said Polycom Australia and New Zealand director of distribution Mark Braxton.
