Ian Morrish wins Special Recognition award from CEDIA
The Special Recognition accolade by CEDIA was awarded to Ian Morrish, founder of Together for Cinema, on Friday 29 September at the 2017 CEDIA Awards Gala Dinner.
Ian has been involved in the industry for over 22 years and after founding Together for Cinema in 2010 he has worked with manufacturers, distributors and integrators to complete 18 cinema rooms for children’s hospices around the UK.
“There couldn’t be a more deserving winner of this year’s Special Recognition award. Throughout his career, Ian has dedicated significant time and resources for the benefit of others, enhancing the lives of many children around the country. He is a credit to our industry and an example to us all,” says CEDIA EMEA managing director Matt Nimmons.

By 2020 Ian hopes to build 25 cinemas for hospices, giving those in the industry an opportunity to give something back by dedicating their time, products or facilities to a great cause
“I’m hugely delighted to have been presented with this award and have to say, even now, I find it very moving. I wish I had the chance to thank everyone who has helped make it happen. Having said this, we don’t do what we do with Together for Cinema for thanks and recognition, though the award was of course a wonderful personal moment,” says Ian.
More than 430 guests attended this year’s CEDIA Awards, which were held at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. All successful winners and finalists are showcased in the annual CEDIA Awards 2017 Yearbook, which will be available to download from www.cediaawards.org. Printed copies will also be available.
