Epson releases range of HDR-compatible home cinema projectors
Epson has released a new range of HDR-compatible home cinema projectors designed to offer 4K enhancement, UHD Blu-ray and high dynamic range support, motorised optics and lens position memory.
“HDR provides greater depth of colour by using the wider colour gamut available in the projector. While there is some trade off in brightness for increased contrast, this translates to more realistic images with elements such as skin tones portrayed more accurately. The Epson models come with 5 pre-set options allowing users to choose an option that best suits their preference,” says Epson Senior Product Manager for the Projector Division Paul Haddad.

The three projectors in the range (EH-TW8300, EH-TW9300, EH-TW9300W) deliver incredible definition, clarity and deep blacks due to an exceptionally high contrast ratio of up to 1,000,000:1 and a new 16-piece glass lens. Colours are also rich and vivid due to Epson’s 3LCD panels that emit an equally high white and colour light output of 2,500 lumens. In addition, frame interpolation and detail enhancement help to create sharp, smooth and flowing images.
With the EH-TW9300W 4Ke WirelessHD projector, it’s effortless to stream content to a projector from a smart phone, games console, Blu-ray player and more. The all new WiHD transmitter makes it possible to receive high-quality 4K content over WiHD, also providing flexibility when positioning the projector.
“Epson now offers two types of wireless connections in the home theatre range. Unlike the traditional wireless projectors that feature a wireless adapter that plugs directly into the projector so users can connect to a peer-to-peer network, WirelessHD (WiHD) projectors allow users to send 4K content from a source device (PC, UHD player) directly to the projector via the WiHD transmitter that comes in the box. This simplifies the installation process and removes the need for long or messy cable runs and suits both video and photos,” says Paul.
