Bowers & Wilkins announces establishment of Australian subsidiary
Bowers & Wilkins has announced the establishment of its Australian subsidiary Bowers & Wilkins Australia, which will market and distribute Bowers & Wilkins products to the Australian market as of 1 August 2017.
Based in Chatswood NSW, Bowers & Wilkins Australia will take over distribution from Convoy International, giving Bowers & Wilkins’s new owners full sales control of all key markets globally, including Australia.
“Australia is a key strategic market for Bowers & Wilkins and so we determined that the best way to service the Australian consumer and support our existing dealers would be to establish direct operations in the country. We intend to invest heavily in the region and look forward to introducing many new and exciting products to the market,” says Bowers & Wilkins chief executive in Asia/Pacific Lars Hundborg.

Convoy International will continue as the third party warehouse and distributor, as well as providing full technical/after sales support and spare part delivery to Bowers & Wilkins Australia.
Contact points for Convoy International will remain the same, with the exception of John Martin who will leave Convoy to join Bowers & Wilkins Australia.
“We take this opportunity to sincerely thank John for his continuous and consistent contribution to Convoy over many years,” says Convoy International managing director Geoff Matthews.
Geoff says it will be business as usual for Convoy International, which will continue to distribute JBL, NAD, Bluesound, PSB, Music Hall, IsoAcoustics and soon Cary Audio.
“Be absolutely assured that we are in great shape and while this was not in our plans it does not alter our overall strategy for a strong and profitable future for both Convoy and our loyal business partners.”
